This was a project I had the good fortune to work on with the talented folks at Pixel Farm, where I served as co-creative director. The idea came from us pitching to the Minnesota Twins—and the coolest part? The opening animation has three scenes that change every game day to feature actual fans in the stands.
We set up a green screen station right at the stadium and filmed fans on-site. Those clips would then get sent over to the graphics team, who swapped out the scenes with the fan of the day. It’s a simple idea, but it brought a real sense of community back into the ballpark.
That’s why you see everything from little league players to Minnesota Gophers and, of course, the Twins all woven together in the animation. Plus, we got to shoot a lot of it down in Fort Myers at their training camp—which, if you’re stuck in a Minnesota winter, feels like a pretty sweet bonus.
