This was my first motionpoems film, based on a poem by Todd Boss—and in many ways, it was the beginning of something for me. A chance to step outside the commercial lane and make something personal, purely for the sake of creative expression.

Everything you see in the film started as still photographs I shot myself. I manipulated them into 3D space, giving the piece a layered, handmade quality I still feel proud of. My son Nicolas makes an appearance, and the windows you see? They’re from our family cabin. It’s the kind of project that reminds you why you got into this work in the first place—to make something that means something, even just to you.
